The great Spanish master Sanjulian is the quintessential cover artist, having tackled various subjects and literature genres. Known as well for the horror covers he did for the Warren magazines in the 1970’s, simultaneously Sanjulian painted covers for book publishers such as Dell, Avon, DAW, Bantam, Fawcett, Berkley and did various covers for the Conan Ace paperback book series written by L. Spague de Camp and others. He also did fantasy covers for books. Today, George Lucas and many other celebrities owns Sanjulian original oil and pencil artworks. Sanjulian has received various awards throughout his career and exhibited his work often in The Society of Illustrators in New York.
This drawing comes from the Sanjulian personal collection and was acquired Corner4art this year with many others original drawings. So far, just few blue pencil have been done to date by SANJULIAN.
