Ruttum always displayed a great talent for painting, so much so he won an award at the Venice Biennale, one of the most prestigious cultural festivals in Europe. Despite his orthodox, classic, and contemporary roots, he dives into more avant-garde realms, especially informalism, transformative, and abstract art, to end up somewhere in between. In most recent times, he has actively dabbled in figurative art, using multi-colored oil paints mixed with street junk to create a very personal interpretation of a pop and street art hybrid.
