Pratt’s style for comic his original comic art was characterized by his masterful use of black and white, employing strong contrasts and intricate linework to create a sense of depth and atmosphere. He utilized a combination of hatching, cross-hatching, and shading techniques to bring his illustrations to life. Pratt’s attention to detail on each comic art work, his ability to convey emotions through his characters’ expressions, and his skillful composition contributed to the unique and captivating visual storytelling that made Corto Maltese a beloved and enduring comic book series. Max takes all of this from the artist and create a similar atmosphere on his original comic art creations, being complex and detailed but keeping the same essence that Pratt gave to his well know comic character.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Max Pedreira

Maximiliano Pedreira is a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a self-taught artist who started off as a musician and soon found his calling as a self-defined figurative-abstract painter. His complex artworks take the viewers on a visual whirlwind of pictorial poetry making them stop and contemplate in depth the expression of his very own inner world and spirit and the flow of overwhelming emotions. Throughout his career, he has worked as an art teacher, been asked to participate as a juror and curator in multiple major art competitions, and exhibited his art in more than 80 museums and art galleries internationally.
