This exceptional acrylic painting of Daisy Duck is inspired by Gustav Klimt’s masterpiece “Lady with a Fan” painted in 1917.

This excellent piece of art portrays Daisy Duck, in profile, with an updo and chestnut curls occupying the center of the composition. Her pensive gaze is directed to the left as a glimpse of her patterned silk robe falls delicately over her shoulders and a fan playfully hides her bosom.

The imposing yellow background is decorated with oriental motifs referencing the strong influence of Japanese art on Klimt’s work, and a captivating interplay of Chinese elements unfolds in the background. Among them, a majestic phoenix takes flight, along with vibrant pink lotus flowers, an elegantly elongated crane, and a resplendent golden pheasant.

Disney artist Tony Fernandez has masterfully reimagined the Austrian Symbolist painter’s original work with meticulous attention to detail. The result is a true masterpiece, perfectly combining the artistic world of Klimt with the endearing essence of the Disney character Daisy Duck.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tony Fernandez

Antonio Fernandez Pons, born in Barcelona in 1965, is a comic artist known for his work with The Walt Disney Studios and European Disney comics. He started his career at 17 as an inker for a design studio and worked on graphic novel adaptations of classic films such as Tarzan and The Tigger Movie. He served as the character designer for other clients, including Fix und Foxi series and Rovio Entertainment’s Angry Birds media franchise. He currently works as an art director while continuing to train young talent. and in his spare time, he has created the “Inspired By Collection”, with over 500 unique works of art that have been exhibited around the world and are highly sought after by collectors.
