Vicar was a Chilean cartoonist who won awards for his work. He started his career in Chile with illustrations, strips, and drawings before moving to Spain in the 60s. He worked on various illustration projects and entered the comics field through Bardon Art agency and Selecciones Ilustradas. In 1971, he started drawing Disney comics for the Danish publisher Gutenberghus (now Egmont Group). Over time, his position in the Disney comic field grew and he eventually had his own studio with several artists and inkers working for him full-time. He was highly regarded by masters like Carl Barks and Uderzo, who drew a legendary story combining their characters.
