This original artwork, Mickey Head in ©Versace – Homage to Hirst, is a representation of the iconic Mickey Mouse conceived according to Garotto’s own vision. The famous character created by The Walt Disney Company in 1928, mascot of the company since then, that in the past has served as inspiration to some of the greatest artists like Damien Hirst, Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol, as a symbol of universal language between people of different generations and places, is back again inspiring Garotto to create a new version with his unique style for the Medusa Collection.
10 years ago, Damien Hirst chose the lovely cartoon character as his inspiration to create an artwork, making his own version of the famous mouse as a symbol of the joy of being a child for a children’s charity. Now, Garotto, in turn inspired by Hirst, reinvents both Mickey Mouse and her girlfriend Minnie Mouse, recovering the essence of that message.
In the series Mickey Meets Medusa, Garotto merges the ©Versace fashion brand and the artistic icon, Mickey Mouse, innovation and tradition. The artist has crafted this select piece with ©Versace Home licensed materials mounted on a handmade wooden base using a variety of techniques, fabrics, shapes, colors, textures, patterns and a range of colors including black, gold, white and red, to come up with this sensational three-dimensional work through a process of conceptualization.
Its huge dimensions and final composition were conceived according to Garotto’s own vision of Damien Hirst art.
This work of art can be shipped worldwide from Garotto Art’s studio in Sitges (Barcelona), Spain.

Multicultural artist Garotto always took it upon himself to gain experience doing multifaceted projects such as work for samba schools creating carnival parade floats in Brazil, bespoke handmade furniture in Argentina, or luxury clothing, which is what finally made him settle in Spain. He has also collaborated with other artists or brands, like when he designed clothing and apparel for Warner Bros., explored working with street artists, or partnered up with top Disney animator Tony Fernandez, to bring some of his sketches to life.
Currently, he’s joining forces with Corner4art for the exclusive worldwide distribution of his award-winning artwork and to develop innovative art projects under the brand name Garotto Art. Being huge fans of fashion, they’ve started producing pieces inspired by and paying homage to influential fashion designers of our time, starting off with a tribute collection to ©Versace, created using officially licensed material from their home décor collections.
These artworks come from Garotto private collection and has been specially selected by himself to be distributed by Corner4art. This product is hand signed by the author and includes the Certificate of Authenticity of Corner4art.
