George Moriwaka

Jyoji Morikawa, also known as George Morikawa, is a celebrated Japanese manga artist and writer, born on January 17, 1966, in Tokyo, Japan. He gained prominence for his highly acclaimed boxing manga series, Hajime no Ippo (also known as Fighting Spirit). Morikawa’s passion for boxing and his meticulous attention to detail in depicting the sport have made Hajime no Ippo a favorite among fans worldwide. The series, which began serialization in 1989, follows the journey of the determined protagonist, Makunouchi Ippo, as he trains and rises through the ranks of the boxing world.
