“All of the artists get ripped off and I'm sick of it. We've had these headaches for thirty years. The only thing you can do is get your artwork copyrighted. It's a poem for which I'm doing four illustrations and it was out of state for a fellow in California — the drawings are being shot as black and white prints. I'm not sending out originals anymore. ABOUT THE ARTIST

Frank Frazetta

Frazetta worked for various comic book companies, including Standard Comics and Magazine Enterprises. In the early 1950s, Frazetta transitioned to doing science fiction and fantasy art, particularly in collaboration with Al Williamson, producing exceptional work for EC Comics. Frazetta’s talent and versatility were further highlighted when he contributed to Al Capp’s “Li’l Abner” strip and worked on movie posters, notably “What’s New Pussycat?” His fame reached new heights with his iconic Conan the Barbarian series of paintings, leading to widespread recognition in the fantasy art genre creating his own characters such as Deth Dealer, who gained him recognition as one of the greatests illustration massters of all times.
