This is a magnificent landscape painting with the most iconic Disney characters, such as Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck, inspired by Picasso’s painting “Mediterranean Landscape” (1952).
By the mid-1980s, Spanish artist Tony Fernandez had begun working in one of Europe’s leading comic studios, having a hand in nearly every production there. Throughout his more than 30 years now working for Disney Studios, he has taken part in every single step of the production process for countless official Disney comic books, book adaptations of classic Disney films, etc. His mastery as a Disney artist led him to lead the artistic teams, supervise and streamline, and train new talent. He has also lent his versatility to projects for other studios like Hanna Barbera, Warner Bros, and Rovio Entertainment.

In 2016 Tony Fernandez started creating his renowned ongoing “Inspired By” collection which currently comprises more than 500 artworks to delight the most discerning collectors.

This original artwork was created for the “Inspired By” collection, which originated when around 2015 Tony Fernandez began sketching the most popular Disney characters in settings based on classic or contemporary works of art and pop culture moments. Currently, it comprises over 500 art pieces inspired by masterpieces by Dali, Miro, Pollock, Degas, Miller, Warhol, Van Gogh, Hopper, Picasso, music stars like Michael Jackson, The Beatles, and David Bowie or celebrities like Muhammad Ali, just to name a few. It has been exhibited in several cities worldwide and it’s very appreciated by collectors of all ages.
This original creation comes from Tony’s private collection.
