Adventure, parody and literary history come together in this imaginative original artwork inspired by Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. Rather than simply portraying familiar Disney characters, Vizcarra recasts them as members of a nineteenth-century whaling expedition, building an entire narrative around their new roles.

Donald Duck commands the center of the image, gripping an oversized harpoon with a wonderfully severe expression. Behind him, Goofy and his companions appear in period-inspired clothing, their serious poses contrasting humorously with their familiar cartoon identities. Below, the scene opens onto the ocean, where an immense white whale rises beside a small boat as a sailing ship approaches in the distance.

The restrained palette of marine blues, smoky greys and warm browns gives the composition an appropriately vintage atmosphere. Signed by the artist, this exclusive artwork offers collectors an entertaining fusion of Disney iconography, classic literature and Vizcarra’s unmistakable sense of caricature.
