This striking original artwork by Manuel Sanjulian presents a solitary Mohawk warrior in profile, rendered with the dramatic realism and painterly intensity that characterize his celebrated illustration work. The figure dominates the vertical composition, emerging against a deep, textured background of earthy reds, browns and greens.

Every element contributes to the narrative: the shaved hairstyle and feathers, necklace, traditional clothing and weapons, and the warrior’s controlled expression create a portrait charged with strength and dignity. At his feet, a horned helmet and skull introduce a darker narrative detail, suggesting the aftermath of conflict without revealing a specific story.

Sanjulian’s mastery of anatomy, light and texture gives the figure a compelling physical presence, while the restrained palette recalls the classical painting tradition that has strongly influenced his artistic language. An evocative unique piece for collectors drawn to historical imagery, fantasy illustration and the powerful figurative tradition of this internationally recognized Spanish artist.
